The processing of personal data by Doctor Web

Doctor Web processes personal data according to the requirements of the following regulatory legal acts:

  • The Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data, dated 1981, ratified by Federal Law No.160-FZ of 19.12.2005 with letters of agreements.
  • Federal Law of 27.07.2006, No.152-FZ "On Personal Data"
  • Federal Law of 27.07.2006, No. 149-FZ "On information, information technologies, and the protection of information"

How users can check their personal data

To make sure that Doctor Web is utilising your current personal data, enter your Dr.Web serial number in the License Manager on Doctor Web’s site. Your personal data will be displayed in the license information section — make sure that it is up to date.

You can also access the License Manager via My Dr.Web Portal. In this case, information about your license will be stored there automatically.

How license owners can change their personal data

A Dr.Web license is always associated with a specific email address.

Important!

Do not allow anyone to register your licence to an email address that does not belong to you — if they do, you will not be able to: renew it at a discount, use our support services and the services available on Doctor Web’s site, and receive service messages about your licenses status.

Important!

It is very important for us to know your current email address. Otherwise, we will not be able to inform you about your license’s status or send you alerts about attempts made by others to use your license illegally.

For various reasons, users sometimes lose their ability to use their registered email address. If you have a valid Dr.Web license and you know that your registered email address is no longer valid, you can change it.

If you don’t have access to your email address

This can happen if you lose the password to your email account.

You can change your email address via a special service.

If you forgot your email address

This can happen if, for example, your license was registered by an employee who no longer works for your company and you do not know the email address he/she used, or if the license was registered by a store employee.

Contact our support service* — via the website or via My Dr.Web Portal.

* Attach to your request documentation confirming that you are the legal owner of this license; specify the email address you want to change.

You will also need to contact our support service to change the name of the license owner (for example, if you specified an Internet alias when you registered and you want to change it to your real name). Your Dr.Web serial number with the incorrect name will be blocked, and you’ll get a new one to replace it.

Other ways to change your personal data

For Dr.Web Anti-virus service subscribers

In the SCC, in the Profile — Personal data section

For users who have registered accounts on Doctor Web’s site

In the Community section — Edit profile

For news subscribers

Since users subscribe to our news releases in Profile, they just need to edit the address in their account.

How to opt out of having your personal data processed

If you provided Doctor Web with your personal data and for some reason you want to deny Doctor Web the right to process it in the future, you can file an application and we will process it.

For Dr.Web users

If you’re using an active Dr.Web license, we will be forced to BLOCK your Dr.Web license when we delete your personal information from our Doctor Web databases because we must have certain personal information in order to license Dr.Web to users. When such blocking occurs, the salesperson who sold the license to you is under no obligation to issue you a refund.

For non-Dr.Web users

If you are not a Dr.Web user (for reasons that include because your license has expired), you can refuse to register (you can delete your account) in your Profile.

A refusal to register is accompanied by the permanent deletion of all user data: awards, trophies, certificates, links with other accounts, and your Dr.Web licenses.

For news subscribers

If you provided Doctor Web with your personal data and for some reason you want to deny Doctor Web the right to process it in the future, you can file an application and we will process it.
